On this week’s Profitable Mommy Blogging I’m running through the great tips left for new mom bloggers on yesterday’s ‘Leave a Tip‘ post.

Listen in, you might learn something new!

My special thanks to everyone who left a tip – and congrats to Cindy for winning the $25 :)

Profitable Mommy Blogging Episode #6

This week’s interview is brought to us by Profitable Mommy Blogging’s April Jones. Her guest this week is Amy Lupold Bair of Resourceful Mommy.

When Amy decided to host a sitewarming party for her blog, she had no idea that it would turn into a source of income. I attended the party and the response was overwhelming. Amy compiled a panel of succesful Moms for guests to chat with and discuss Mommy blogging, social media and other topics. To attend the party, guests simply followed Amy and the panelists and used hashtags and Twitter Search to follow the discussion.

On the night of the Resourceful Mommy Launch Party, #RMLP was among the top-rated topics on Twitter.

In this interview, Amy tells us how she started blogging, where she came up with the idea for a sitewarming, and how she ended up launching a business hosting parties for others. She also explains how it works and how you can attend a party or even have your own. This venture has grown so quickly that she will soon be launching a new website dedicated to sitewarming parties.

Some of the sites that have been warmed are:

Be sure to listen to the podcast for some big news about upcoming sitewarming parties including some amazing prizes!

Amy also blogs for Type A Mom and Blissfully Domestic.

Does the term ‘Mommy Blogger’ bother you?  Hear my rant on that in this week’s show ;)

Our guest this week is Crystal Paine of Money Saving Mom.  Crystal caught our attention here at Profitable Mommy Blogging with a series on making money with your blog.

My Entrecard Results…

As I shared last week I opened my mind up to Entrecard and gave it a go this week on Profitable Mommy Blogging. I placed the widget on my sidebar and spent about twenty minutes a day exploring the Entrecard site, dropping my card and buying/selling ads in the Entrecard economy. [Read more...]

twitter-moms

My guest this week is Megan Calhoun, founder of Twitter Moms.

When I first heard about Twitter Moms I wrinkled my nose at it.  I said ‘why do we need a social network about a social network?’  But I was wrong!  Twitter Moms has taken off like a rocket, growing to a include almost 4000 moms in just a few short weeks of it’s existence.

Add both of us as a friend and leave a comment on our profiles :)

Twitter Moms Tip: You can blog at Twitter Moms on just about any topic you like.  Focus on providing some useful information and feel free to include links to your sites.  It’s a great idea to post a ‘digest’ of your other blog posts every week or to share some link love with other mom bloggers you enjoy.

Profitable Mommy Blogging #2

Welcome to Episode Number Two made just for you – the mom blogger who would like to find ways to earn an income from your love of blogging.

There are a lot of ways to profit from the skills you’ve been building up as a blogger.  Today’s guest is a very good example of this.

Guest: Tammy Munson of Army Household 6 joins me to talk about how her role as a military mom blogger has opened doors for opportunities to provide services as a new media Virtual Assistant and earned her invitations to blog professionally for military organizations.

When Tammy started her family blog it was for herself.  She called it therapeutic.  Little did she know where it could take her.

Profitable Mommy Blogging Episode #1

new-podcast

Welcome to our inaugural episode of the Profitable Mommy Blogging Podcast!

I’ve been podcasting for a long time now – in fact Work at Home Moms Talk Radio is turning five years old in just a couple of weeks. It feels pretty cool to be celebrating such an awesome milestone with one show while launching another.

Guest: Christine Plaisted

Christine of Best Homeschool Place is my guest. Christine is a new mom blogger and homeschooling mother of two looking to monetize her homeschool resource blog and enjoying the opportunity to share her opinion and life with others.

Topic: Your Blog’s Floor Space

We talked about the importance of using the ‘floor space’ of your blog the best way possible. I compared the sidebars of a blog to the square footage you would receive if you rented out store space at the local shopping mall. If you run a store with 500 square foot of space and fill it up with things you can’t sell – you’re never going to make money. The same is true for your blog’s side bar. Every inch of space needs to be considered carefully.

Topic: Entrecard

Entrecard is a popular blog traffic tool. The way that Christine described it to me it is essentially a traffic exchange and I don’t have a high opinion of traffic exchanges in general – BUT… I would really like to hear from others about their experience with Entrecard. Have you been able to measure and monetize Entrecard traffic? Please leave a comment and tell us about it.
