I did it AGAIN. I installed a new WordPress blog and forgot to add my password to the database that tracks all of my passwords. (Yes, shamefully I do this too often.)
Thank goodness for the little WordPress hack made by Village Idiot. It’s called Emergency and it works like a charm.
You download the file here (zip file) and upload the ‘emergency.php’ file to the same directory that your blog appears in. Then you go to http://www.yoururl.com/emergency.php and enter your desired admin name and password. Then (very important) delete the emergency.php file from the server.
That’s it – it’s that simple.
